The technology of separation and reclamation of copper and nickel from plating wastewater by solvent extraction using Lix984N as an extractant have been investigated.The results showed that LIX984N can successfully separate Cu2+ and Ni2+ from sulphate medium by adjusting pH value (pH value is 4 for Cu and 10.5 for Ni respectively),the maximal extraction efficiency is up to 92.4% for Cu2+ and 92.3% for Ni2+ by one-stage counter-current extraction,and recover Cu2+ and Ni2+by stripping in 2mol/L H2SO4 medium,it can be obtained that stripping of copper >99.1%and stripping of nickel >99.3% respectively.The technices of this method for separating and recovering Cu2+ and Ni2+ are very simple and can be successfully applied to the field of plating wastewater,decreasing the environment pollution from Cu2+ and Ni2+ and providing a kind of new copper and nickel resource.
