Robotic-assisted laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation in children is a challenging procedure and begins to be used recently in China.We report our preliminary experience of this procedure to evaluate its efficacy and safety in Chinese children.We performed three cases of robotic assisted laparoscopic extravesical ureteral reimplantation from Oct.2013 to May.2014.They were 2 boys and 1 girl with the age of 5, 6, 8 year-old respectively.Two cases were vesical ureteral junction obstruction (VUJO) on the right side and one case was bilateral vesical ureteral reflux (VUR).The procedure was performed by da Vinci Si system.The patient was placed in a supine position and secured to the table across the legs, chest and shoulders.Afterward, the Trendelenburg position (30 degrees) was achieved to allow the abdominal contents to fall away from the surgical area.The endoscope port was placed through the lower edge of the umbilicus with the 30-degree 12 mm scope.After pneumoperitoneum (10mmHg,2L/min) was achieved, two 10 mm working ports were placed under vision in the mid clavicular lines at the level of the umbilicus.The robot was then brought in over the patients feet, and docking was performed.
