Objectives To evaluate the continuous monitoring of CSF antigen titers for cryptococcal meningitis treatment so as to provide evidence for rational therapy.Patients & Methods We prospectively investigated the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) antigen titer changes during the first 3 months treatment for 14 cases of non-HIV-infected, non-transplant cryptococcal meningitis cases with both clinical and laboratory findings.Results All cases showed a decrease trend of the antigen titers obviously after initial treatment and consistent with the fungal clear situation.One patients showed a obvious decrease titers accompany with treatment improvement but when symptoms relapsed it elevated again.Conclusions The antigen titres monitoring can be useful for immunocompetent CM patients therapy when combined with clinical manifestations and CSF routine microbiological testing, but it can not be used as cure index until now
