Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are the promising candidate for the flexible device material, such as transparent conductive film, electron field emitter, field effect transistor, and electrode of energy storage.This study demonstrates that the vertically aligned CNT (VA-CNT) can be directly transferred onto a plastic substrate and the orientation was maintained after transfer process.The transfer process can be recyclable to perform onto a plastic substrate without adding second catalyst source for growing VA-CNT.The field emission test shows low turn-on voltage and proper current density for flexible emitter.The VA-CNT film can be adopted as a strong light trapper that can be used as grating for diffracting light beam.If the CNT periodic pattern was made within the range of observable light wavelength, the sample shows the dark to colorful reflected light from the white light.The details will be discussed in this work.
