　　PTEN is one of the most frequently mutated tumor suppressors in human cancer.While its function in tumor suppression is well established,its relationship to arti-microbial immunity remains unknown.Here we show that PTEN plays a pivotal role in type Ⅰ interferon(IFN)induction,the hallmark of antiviral innate immunity,which is independent of PI3K/Akt pathway.
