Antimicrobial activities of isothiocyanates (ITCs) extracted from horseradish (Armoracia msticana) against Trichophyton rubrum,Trichophyton mentagrophtes,Epidermophyton floccosum and Microsporum canis were examined.Two hundred gram of horseradish powder was mixed with 550 mL of distilled water,and then the mixture was reacted at 40℃ for 120 min for maximum production of ITCs.ITCs was extracted from the mixture by distillation at 120℃ for 120 min and essential oil was obtained by centrifugation (850 (A)-g,20 min)of extract.The concentration of ITCs in essential oil was 650,670.97 (A)+ 1,370.26 ppm,which is concentration of allyl isothiocynate (AIT),main component of ITCs.
