Parkinsons Disease is a common neurodegenerative disease which its molecular mechanism is still unknown.1-Methyl-4-phenyipyridinium ion (MPP+) is used to make a Parkinsons Disease model in neuron cell lines.Thioredoxin-1 (Trx-1) is a redox regulating protein, which has various biological activities, including neuroprotection and regulating transcription factor DNA binding activity. The aim of this study is to explore the roles of Trx-1 in suppressing the neurotoxicity induced by MPP+ in PC12 cells.
