We demonstrate high response visible-blind organic ultraviolet (UV) photodetector (PD) using 4,4',4"-tris[3-methyl-pheny(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine (m-MTDATA) and a novel Cu(Ⅰ) complex,CuBB to act as the electron donor and acceptor, respectively.CuBB was verified to possess high electron mobility and the optimized PD offers a photocurrent of 173 μ A/cm2 at-10 V,corresponding to a response of 248 mA/W under an illumination of 365 nm UV light with an intensity of 0.691 mW/cm2.The high response is attributed to the high electron transport ability of CuBB,the suppression of radiative decay of m-MTDATA and efficient charge transfer from m-MTDATA to CuBB.In addition, the photovoltaic (PV) characteristics of CuBB were also investigated. The results in our study complete the story:built-in field plays an decisive role in PV devices, whereas charge mobility operates more effectively in PDs.The performances of CuBB based PDs render them a useful building block for molecular organic ultraviolet photonic integrated circuits.
