S-1 is an orally active combination drug consisting of tegafur as a prodrug of5-FU, gimeracil, and oteracil potassium.Based on the results of domestic phase Ⅲ trials, S-1 is recognized in Japan as one of the key drugs for the treatment of various adenocarcinomas.Furthermore, S-1 also plays an important role in the adjuvant setting for gastric cancer, colon cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
