PSD-95 is enriched in the postsynaptic density which has been shown to play an important role in the regulation of neurotransmitter receptor functions. The direct physical interaction between PSD-95 and NMDA receptor was reported to regulate NMDA receptor traffic and internalization.By employing either immunoprecipitation or fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET),We found that PSD-95 is physically associated with D1 receptor in HEK cells which were cotransfected PSD-95 and D1 dopamine receptor. This is true in brain tissue.Stimulation of D1 receptor with selective agonist in PSD-95 and D 1 receptor expressing cells enhanced the association between the two molecules in a timedependent manner.
