  Direct alcohol fuel cells (DAFCs) have been widely reported as potential portable power sources in the past decades[1-2].Ethano from biomass, considered as a renewable and green fuel for DAFC application, is environmental friendly and sustainable.However, complete ethanol electro-oxidation involves the release of 12 electrons per molecule and the cleavage of C-C bond, which requires catalysts with high activity.Until now, Pt is considered as the most effective element.Except using bi-or tri-metal elements to modify Pt[3-5], this work focus on study the effect of substrate materials, which play significant role in the catalysts as well.
