The Hetero-Diels-Alder (HDA) reaction provides a powerful tool to construct aza, oza-heterocycles, in which Danishefskys diene was demonstrated to be the most efficient diene.1 Based on our groups efforts on chiral Cu-schiff base and Cu-prolinol derivative complexes,2 three catalytic systems were developed.Recently, we developed a highly enantioselective Hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of Danishefskys diene with β,γ-unsaturated α-ketoesters for the first time by virtue of chiral copper complexes.
