Objectives: Patients who have undergone surgical treatment of oral cancer often experience functional denture problems, particularly for edentulous patients it is difficult to control and stabilize their mandibular denture. In order to improve oral functioning of edentulous patients, the use of dental implants is considered useful in the reconstruction of occlusion and functional recovery. However, the functional outcome of implant-supported prostheses on restoration of masticatory function is still unknown. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the masticatory function of the edentulous mandible where implant treatment was performed after surgical resection for oral cancer.
