Great efforts have been made to explore surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates with both high sensitivity and reproducibility.Here we demonstrate an easy particle-mediated protocol to synthesize highly rough (HR-) cubic Ag mesocages via reducing the specific surface structure of mesocrystal (MC) Ag2O sacrificial templates.As far as we know, it is the first time to investigate the growth mechanism and SERS property of highly rough (HR-) cubic Ag mesocages.
