Anther development and meiosis are crucial for male fertility and crop breeding.Genetic studies of a number of genes,such as BAM1/2 and DYT1,demonstrated that both protein phosphorylation and transcriptional regulation are important for normal anther development and meiosis.To further probe the regulatory mechanism for anther development,we have performed transcriptomic and proteomic analyses using wild type and mutant tissues.
