Cordyceps militaris has recently been used as functional food in China and is a commonly used as a Traditional Chinese Medicine.Because of its significant medicinal effect, the market demand of C.militaris has been continuously increasing.The formation of C.militaris fruiting bodies is however, unstable and is a limiting factor for industrial production.Studies on the morphology of C.militaris fruiting bodies and their cordycepin production is rare.
