Trichothecenes are a group of sesquiterpenoid-derived secondary metabolites that vary by the pattern of oxygenations and esterifications of a core tricyclic structure with an epoxide function [1] Trichothecenes exhibited various pharmacological activities as mycotoxins, immunosuppressors and neurotoxins [2].In our previous work, three trichothecenes, myrotoxins A, satratoxin H and 12-hydroxyroridin E isolated from marine-derived fungus Stachybotrys chartarum strain WGC-25C-6 showed potent anti-cancer activity against several human cancer cells.In order to regulate the biosynthesis of these compounds, the biosynthetic gene clusters have been investigated.
