Diastolic stress echocardiography is an emerging clinical tool that aids in the diagnosis of Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFPEF).The underlying principle is that patients with HFPEF are generally symptomatic only with exertion, and thus the resting echocardiogram may show normal filling dynamics in a patient with dyspnoea on exertion.Abnormal filling dynamics may be unmasked by exercise coinciding with the symptoms of dyspnoea.
