The plasma membrane calcium +ATPase (PMCApump) is a calcium transporting protein in the plasma membrane of cells.Its role is the regulation of the homeostasis of Ca2+ within all eukaryotic cells.: however, the main role of the pump is the regulation of calcium signaling in spatially restricted cytosolic domains surrounding its intracellular portion, rather than the global control of calcium in the bulk cytosol.
