Resistance Research of Soybean Cultivars against Phytophtora sojae

  Selecting and using resistance cultivars is the most cost-effective way to control soybean Phytophtora sojae root rot disease.This research measured the resistance level of soybean cultivars against three Phytophtora sojae races, so as to select valuable resistant soybean cultivars or germ resources.We used 208 domestic and abroad soybean cultivars as experiment material, Phytophtora sojae race 1, race 3 and race 9 as inoculates and used hypocotyl wounding methods for inoculations.The research results showed that to race 1, there were 69 cultivars highly resistant, takes up 33.17% of the total, of which 12 cuhivars are immunity materials;there were 71 cultivars middle resistant, takes up 34.1% of the total;there were 68 cultivars susceptible, takes up 32.69% of the total.To race 3 there were 63 cultivars highly resistant, takes up 30.29% of the total, of which 19 cultivars are immunity materials;there were 79 cultivars middle resistant, takes up 37.98% of the total;there were 66 cultivars susceptible,takes up 31.73% of the total.To race 9 there were 71 cultivars highly resistant, takes up 34.14% of the total, of which 32 cultivars are immunity materials;there were 91 cultivars middle resistant, takes up 43.75% of the total;there were 46 cultivars susceptible, takes up 22.12% of the total.The soybean cultivars from Northeast of China had better resistance to race 1 and race 3 than foreign cultivars, while there were more domestic cultivars susceptible to race 9 compared to foreign cultivars.
