The Compendium of Materia Medica records more than 600 sustained release formulations of Traditional Chinese Medicine,which are mostly not inherited today.Some like the wax (paste) pill are also close to be eliminated.However,sustained release formulation of Traditional Chinese Medicine,which limited by modem formulation technology research,lacks adaptability to the theory of Traditional Chinese medicine."Balanced release of complex composition" is the characteristic of self-releasing of sustained release formulation of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
