Abundant species of fungi which are seldom found in the temperate region inhabit Okinawa islands located in the tropical and subtropical regions.We are promoting the researches on the relations between these fungi and insects such as that between Termitomyces eurhizus and Odontotermes formosanus and that between Laboulbeniomycetes and stalk-eyed flies, Diopsidae.We examined the morphologic and phylogenic varieties of fruit bodies which grow from fungal gardens of O.formosanus and mycelia in fungal gardens in southern Okinawa islands.
