This paper aims to analyze the generic structure and its linguistic features of RA abstracts in both Chinese-medium and English-medium linguistics journals.A total of 40 RA abstracts published in the years 2011-2013 were collected randomly.The BIMRC/D model was adopted as distinct differences can be found in the two corpora in terms of the background move.
