Estimation of Functional Components for Chinese Cabbage Leaves Using Reflectance Data

  Knowledge of the structure and function of vegetation and its reflectance properties has been required for analysing vegetation using remotely sensed data.Vegetative structures and their condition to their reflectance behaviour in an ecological system of interest are linked by this knowledge.The aim of our study was to estimate relationships between functional components (glucosinolates, carotenoid, anthocyanins, total sugar, amino acid or their components) and spectral reflectance of Chinese cabbage leaf.Chinese cabbage leaf samples used in this study were grown in a plant factory in Chungnam National University, Daejeon, Republic of Korea.Spectral reflectance data of leaf at wavelength bands from 190 nm to 1,130 nm were collected by using a UV/VIS/NIR spectrometer in a dark condition.Scans were repeated 12 times in the blade part of the upper area for each leaf measurement.For determination of important wavelengths, correlation coefficient spectrum,mathematical transformations (eR, R2,1/R,ln(R),错误!未找到引用源.),multiple linear regression (MLR) were applied.Performance of MLR procedure was good.Good R-square was obtained for glucosinolates (0.81 of gluconasturtin, 0.73 of 4-methoxyglucobrassiein,0.72 of glucobrassicanapin).For anthocyanins and carotenoids, the results of MLR procedure showed fair estimates (0.68 of pelargonidin and total carotenoids, 0.65 of β-carotene and 0.61 of cyanindin).
