A new type of long-gauge strain sensor was addressed,the sensing element of which was a constantan wire(CW)packaged with epoxy fiber reinforced polymer.Firstly,the sensing performance of the long-gauge CW sensors with a gauge length of 200mm was studied and calibrated.The gauge factor was approximated 2.0,almostly the same as the traditional electrical strain gauges.
