Macrotermes barneyi is a fungus-growing termite.In our previous study, it was found that not only the cellulases activities but also laccase activity detected with the 2, 6-DMP as a substrate mainly existed in the midgut of M.barneyi.A putative laccase unigene was obtained from the midgut transcriptomic analysis of M.barneyi.The RACE was used to acquire an open reading frame of 3210 bp (GenBank: JQ292847).
