Calcified chronic subdural hematoma is a rare pathological entity, and until recently, has been published only as case reports.We present a patient with huge calcified, organized and separated CSDH who obtained good re-expansion after craniotomy to remove the thick calcified inner membrane and hematoma.In addition, we reviewed 46 cases in literature and conducted a summary about the incidence, clinical charac teristics, radiological findings and therapeutic strategies of calcified CSDH.Surgical treatment for CCDSH with a sudden neurological deterioration is feasible and often re sults in neurological improvement, but a crucial consideration was required in asymp tomatic CCSDH.It is the first time to conduct a summary about calcified CSDH based on most of cases in literatures.It have a certain value for how to realize and deal with CCSDH with rarer incidence in the future.
