　　Haitan Bay is located in Pingtan County where exist several fine bathing beaches, in the east of Fujian Province of China, facing Haitan Strait in the east and Taiwan Strait in the west.In recent years, Haitan Bay has suffering severe erosion due to the construction of artificial seawalls that increase the wave reflection, therefore, a Beach Nourishment Project, involving beach nourishment and groins in the northern and southern ends of the beach, will be conducted at Longfengtou Beach of Haitan Bay.
