The comparative study of eyes structure in some freshwater and terrestrial snails have shown, that geometry of a retina as well as optical properties of cornea and crystalline lens are adapted for refractive index ofenviroment.The most of retinal photoreceptors in gastropods belong to rhabdomeric type though in Viviparus viviparus and Planorbarius corneus cilliary cells were found as well.As a rule, microvilli of photoreceptors are chaotic oriented.The number and density of photoreceptor cells in retina allow a spatial resolution of vision as high as, for example 1,8°-2,0° in Lyrnnaea stagnalis and P.corneus.
