What are the neural correlates of speech motor learning? As we learn a motor task coordinated activity emerges over distributed networks of brain regions.The degree of coordination over the networks can be a useful measure of learning and, accordingly, it is hypothesized that neural synchronization characterizes brain dynamics that supports motor learning.We studied phase coherence in a speech motor learning task in which auditory feedback was altered in real-time as subjects repeatedly uttered a consonant-vowel-consonant word, head.
