Objective The effects of emodin on growth inhibition and Akt pathway regulation were investigated in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells and AML xenograft models.Methods (1) Cell proliferation was measured using MTT assay.Acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL) cell line NB4 cells,all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA)-resistant NB4 subclone-MR2 cells and primary AML cells were included in this study.Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from healthy donors were used as controls.
