Patients with profound acute heart failure (HF) or acute decompensation of chronic HF refractory to medical or conventional surgical treatment are candidates for ventricle assist device (VAD), which can be used as bridge to decision, bridge to recovery or bridge to long-term support for those, who have no contraindications for heart transplantation (HT).In this group of patients HT can be taken into account after stabilisation even without long-term support.The aim of our study was to assess the clinical experience with heart transplantation in patients being supported with centrifugal pump CentriMag (Levitronix GmbH).
