  A gel polymer electrolyte(GPE)was prepared by in-situ thermal polymerization of Hexyl acrylate(HA)in commercial Lithium ion electrolyte.The ionic conductivity of the GPE reaches 11.5 S/cm at room temperature,which is close to the liquid electrolyte.Additionally,The GPE exhibits excellent electrochemical stability up to 6 V.FTIR analysis reveals that HA in the liquid electrolyte has been successfully polymerized into gel polymer electrolyte.Furthermore,Lithium ion batteries composed of a LiCoO2 cathode and a lithium anode were prepared with gel polymer electrolyte and their cycling performances were evaluated.
