Natural products play a crucial role in pharmaceutical industry as they are important resources for the discovery of novel drug leads.One strategy to expand the structural diversity of natural products is by transition metal-catalyzed organic transformations.However,the success of this strategy relies on the meticulous choice of selective catalysts/reagents and mild reaction conditions that do not damage the complex,delicate and bioactive structural moieties of natural products.Despite the significant advancements of synthetic technologies in the past decades,it remains a great challenge to develop efficient transition metal catalysis for selective modification of complex natural products under mild reaction conditions.
