Measurement uncertainty affects the accuracy of the estimated parameters of vibrating systems In this paper Bayesian method and the backbone curves are combined together to identify the parameters of a Duffing-type oscillator. The backbone curves and envelopes are estimated from the free decay signal coloured by white Gaussian noise using Hilbert transform and zero-crossing methods.
