Public concern on exposure to EMF has been expressed in South Korea from 10 to 15 years ago.An increasing number of petitions claim not to build transmission lines and substations near home,although no convincing evidence of a causal relationship has been found in several controlled studies.This paper describes current situation of ELF EMF problems in South Korea with dividing them into four parts.The first part of public concern introduces the results of questionnaire survey on health effects and misconceptions on EMF in South Korea.
