Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of antibiotics-loaded cement (ALC) Materials and methods:From April,2002 to April 2003,TKA were carried out on 534 patients (739 knees) in a medical center.In group A,177 patients (268 knees) received ALC for fixing knee prosthesis.In group B,357 patients (471 knees) used conventional cement for fixation.There were 70 patients with infected TKA treated with 2-staged method,i.e.,removal of original prosthesis,debridement and insertion of ALC.After CRP became normal for 2 weeks,then a new set of knee prosthesis was replaced in the knee.
