Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) is based on a ternary solvent system like homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction and cloud point extraction.The addition of dispersive solvent disperses the extraction solvent to fine droplets into the aqueous phase and markedly increases the contact surface area for the transferring target compounds from sample matrix to extract.DLLME has been proved to be a powerful tool for the rapid sample pretreatment of liquid samples providing at the same time high enrichment factors and extraction recoveries.In the last decades, ionic liquids are considered as green solvents and have gained high interest in analytical chemistry for their unique chemical and physical properties as negligible vapor pressure, tunable viscosity, wide temperature range and good solubility for organic and inorganic compounds.Recently, ionic liquids as extractant of DLLME seem a potential way to improve the extraction efficiency with less pollution to environment.
