  Though much work has been carried out in order to advance our understanding of the reaction kinetics involved in the synthesis of thiol stabilised gold nanoparticles(AuNPs),starting with the 1992 Brust-Schiffrin method,this understanding has not been translated to flow systems.In fact most models in publication do not stray very far from the original reaction conditions used,and instead simply look at the effects of varying a single variable(typically the concentration of thiol relative to gold)1.
