Background The aim of the study is to study the expression of DLL4 and Notchl in the differentiation of human umbilical cord derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUC MSCs) into cardiomyodytes induces by 5-azaeytidine (5-aza),investigate the regulation of differentiation of hUC MSCs into cardiomyocytes by Notch signaling system.Methods hUC MSCs were isolated and purified from the umbilical cord of healthy full-term delivery fetus after the conset of puerpera by adhering to the culture dishes.hUC MSCs was induced by 5-aza.Then the cultured ceils were collected in 1, 3, 5, 7 days after 5-aza intervention.The expression of Notch signal was detected by RT-PCR.
