Diversa has developed a suite of fully automated bioinformatic tools that enable in silico prediction of putative antigenic targets from either unfinished or published pathogenic microbial genomes.These bioinformatic tools together with a novel 3D-mLC MS/MS proteomics platform are able to rapidly analyze surface or secreted proteins under pathological conditions.These techniques generate a prioritized list of genes as putative antigens which are then expressed as fusion proteins in combination with various immunomodulating proteins.These are either used as DNA vaccines or protein vaccines.The constructs are then tested for efficacy in the respective animal challenge model for the disease under investigation.In this talk several examples of our technical strategy and resulting commercial products will be highlighted.
