  A novel copper-catalyzed and microwave-promoted propargylation/alkyne oxacyclization/isomerization cascade for the synthesis of furo[3,2-c]coumarin in moderate to good yields(up to 80%yield)using readily available 4-hydroxycoumarins and terminal propargyl acetates as starting material has been developed.By switching the solvent DMSO to DCE,a range of 2-methylene-2,3-dihydrofuro[3,2-c]coumarin could be obtained in acceptable to good yields(up to 85%yield).
