  It is known that composite laminates have poor impact resistance in the thickness direction.There are several solutions to improve their impact capability,such as fiber and matrix toughening,interface treatment,through-the-thickness reinforcements,and selective interlayers and hybrids.One of the possible solutions to increase the impact resistance of composite laminates is to hybrid composites with shape memory alloys wires,where the superelastic behavior of SMA can absorb large impact energy to minimize the impact damage.In this study,conventional polymer matrix composite panels and SMA reinforced composite panels with SMA wires in different layers were made.And different energy impact test were carried out by a drop hammer test machine,in order to optimize the impact resistance of SMA reinforced composites.
