  This paper researches the application of innovation methods in helmet design of traffic,construction and mining.Helmet is a tool protecting the head.For helmet design security is the first and sense of beauty is the second.With the development of material,the progress of technology and increasing of human demands,helmets have more widespread application fields.Helmet design includes many factors such as shape,material,technology and ventilation etc.Certainly security is the most important thing.From the viewpoint of design elements,the paper discusses the application of the innovation techniques such as shape imitation,material replacement,function combination and technical transplant in helmet design by giving some examples,to provide the helmet designers with new ideas and methods.
