Datun Lake is a typical subtropical plateau lake in Southeast Yunnan and in recent years it has experienced increasing pressure from multiple environmental stressors, such as lake eutrophication, extreme droughts, fish farming, land reclamation and damming.As a result, the ecosystem and environment fimctioning of this lake has been decreasing rapidly.
