Effects of Oxidation Time on Structure and Corrosion Resistance Property of Micro-arc Oxidation film

  Micro-arc oxidation(MAO) ceramic films were prepared on Ti6Al4V (TC4) alloy in phosphate system with constant voltage of 475V.The effects of oxidation time on the surface morphologies, surface hardness, surface roughness and phase composition of the MAO films were investigated.Corrosion resistance properties at different oxidation times were also tested.The results show that, with the increasing MAO time, size of the micro-pores increase, the average surface thickness and hardness firstly increases and then decrease, and the MAO film is mainly composed of rutile, anatase and calcium phosphate compounds, and the main crystal phase are calcium phosphate compounds, the content of rutile and calcium phosphate compounds increase with increasing of MAO time, the corrosion potential of MAO film decreases gradually and the corrosion current increases gradually.
