The environmental protection and sustainability are concerns of huge importance globally.The air pollution, the greenhouse effects, the water pollution, the noise pollution, the pollution in less or more densely populated urban regions is matters that are taken into account in the whole advanced world.The increase of environmental awareness appeared only recently but currently is a main subject of importance.Domestic Legislations and international Treaties and Agreements are pursuing to deal with the diverse environmental issues that the natural and urbanized biosphere faces.　　The worlds oceans and seas cover 71％ of the Earths surface and comprise more natural variety than extra-terrestrial and freshwater ecologies.The marine environment is a valuable asset and a boundless contributor to economic prosperity, social well being and life style.Nevertheless, the ocean environment is under pressure.Waste dumping, dredging and extraction of sand and gravel, water borne and atmospheric deposition of dangerous substances and nutrients, oil and gas exploration and shipping are just some of the actions samples producing the degradation of our maritime.Other actions such as bottom trawling and over-fishing are also great role to the obliteration of marine habitats and species.　　The European Union, aware of the enhancing concern about the state of Europes maritime, included in the Sixth Environment Action Program a commitment to progress a policy for the protection and conservation of the ocean and sea environment with the entire goal being "to promote sustainable use of the maritime and protect marine ecosystems.
