Nowadays companies increasingly adopt corporate social responsibility as part of its business strategy, generally those strategies improve the sustainable development not only of the business but also within the country that the business is developed.The contributions from the CSR are focusing on taking care of the environment and society, as well as providing economic benefits, but there are certain industries that has been questioned about the transparent responsibility of its operations, the mining industry is one of them.The debate about the mining industry relies whether mining provides an economically, environmental and socially sustainable model development.While the mining industry generate benefits to societies, the industry has detrimental impact on affected communities.This is an evaluation of the CSR implementation difference of Tsairt Mineral in Mongolia and Chalco in China, through the three pillars of the sustainable development; economic, social and environmental sustainability.This study has four main purposes: identify the contributions from these mining companies to the sustainable development of respective local community, describe the CSR, identify from different arguments the contribution from the mine to the sustainable development of the country, and make suggestions to the CSR to increase the sustainable development in respective countries.KEYWORDS: Corporate social responsibility; sustainable development; mining industry; Tumurtiin-Ovoo zinc ore; Sukhbaatar province; Toromocho project;Morococho city
