一、 have 具有使役意义, 意为“让、使、叫”等, 后接不定式、V-ing形式、V-ed形式以及形容词、副词等作宾语补足语。
1. have sb. do sth.接省略to的不定式, 表示让某人干某事。如：
I had my uncle repair my bike yesterday.
2. have sb. doing sth., have相当于keep, 强调使某人一直干某事, 一直处于某种状态。如：
I’m terribly sorry for having you waiting so long.
这一结构与can’t, won’t连用时表示“不允许”。如：
I can’t have you smoking at your age. 我不许你这个年龄吸烟。
I won’t have you talking to Mother like that. 我不准你对妈妈那样说话。
3. have sth. done有两层 意义
（1） 让某物被……, 它所表示的动作是别人做的, 不是句子主语完成。如：
Tomorrow I’ll have my hair cut.
（2） 遭遇到不幸的事或意外的事。如：
He had his leg broken when playing football.
二、 句型sb. + have + 宾语 + to do（不定式作定语）意为“有……要做……”。如：
Be quiet, I have something to say.
I have a suggestion to make.
在这种结构中, 不定式与其所修饰的中心词之间具有逻辑的动宾关系, 而且它与句子主语还具有逻辑的主谓关系, 不定式动词用主动形式。
注意：“Do you have any clothes to be washed?” the maid asked. 句中衣服不是由 you 洗, 而是由the maid 洗, 故用不定式的被动式。
三、 have a good/hard time doing sth. 意为“做某事容易/难”。如：
We have a hard time getting out the big stones. 我们费了很大的劲儿把这些大石头搬出。
类似结构还有：have difficulty/trouble/fun/a struggle doing sth. 如：
I had a terrible struggle finding anything valuable in the library.
四、 动词本身的词义是“有”, 变疑问句或否定句时, 直接将have提前或在其后加否定词。如：
Have you any questions?
I haven’t a dictionary?
注意：have作其他意义时变疑问句或否定句, 要借助于助动词do。如：
He doesn’t have any coffee.
We didn’t have a meeting yesterday.
五、 had better/best do sth. 最好干某事, 省略形式better do sth.。如：
It’s pretty cold this morning. You’d better put on your coat.
I suppose I’d better be going.
