Multiple Primary Carcinoma (abbreviated as MPC) refers to two or more primary cancers occurring simultaneously or successively in single or multiple organ tissues of the same host. Its importance is due to the fact that MPC studies are helpful in revealing the origins of cancer mechanisms, such as the origin of polycentricity, and tumor immunology; MPC is confusing with metastatic and recurrent cancers and constitutes a difficult clinical diagnosis and treatment; thus, MPC has become a daily problem. Focused research topics. Ectopic thyroid cancer is quite rare, and most of the clinical findings are ectopic thyroid cancers in the midline (mostly occurring on the basis of thyroid tongue residue). From the 1915-1981 world literature a total of about 100 cases were met. Ectopic thyroid cancer outside the midline is extremely rare.
